S2 Photographic

Kaitie is a Division I collegiate gymnast who grew up in the Bay Area.  She is quite an athlete and an aspiring fitness model so this was the perfect opportunity to do a sports photo shoot.  As a huge sports fan, I have been longing to combine my passion for sports and photography.  I am so happy to have crossed paths with Kaitie!  We met at Edge Gymnastics in Dublin back in February of last year (yes, this post is a bit delayed!).  This was a great venue to shoot – lots of open space and plenty of gymnastics equipment.  It looks to be a place for serious gymnasts!  Kaitie dazzled us with her skills on the floor and balance beam.  Thanks so much for shooting with us, Kaitie!

Amy, Steve, and I braved a bit of high surf for this shoot. We had to pick up everything and run for a few sets! Although you wouldn’t know it from these photos. Great job guys!! Swimsuit is always cool but when the light started getting low Amy brought out this awesome fuchsia sundress: perfect! Lots of fun, as usual. It’s always a good time when working at a great location with a great model. Mahalo Amy!

Mahalo Omi and Kama! This was a totally cool “engagement” shoot. (In all honesty, we staged it.) But if I had not spilled the beans, would you have known that??? Incredible feeling put forth by both Omi and Kama! WOOT!!! Once again we employed both natural and strobe for max effect. Fashion, accessories, hair, and make up were care of Omi and Kama. Omi designed AND made her dress plus the accessories! How’s that for full service talent?! Awesome work Omi! Special thanks to Chad for being our “water proof, voice activated, light stand”.

Another great portrait session! This time with Angel, out at Makapuu. Fashion, accessories, hair, and make-up were care of Angel. Security, transportation, and moral support: many thanks to Pat! It was just Steve and I shooting this day. We both took turns with the strobe and ambient lighting. Everything about this setup screamed, “drama!” The wind, the setting sun, the 200 foot drop… It was a lot of fun!!! Many thanks, again, to Angel for being very professional! The wind and rocks were not easy to work with — you hung in there and pulled it off like a champ!! Steve and I take great pride in our professionalism and we lavish our gratitude upon those who share the same values. Aloha!

Steve, Chad, and I had a great shoot, with Stacey, out at Kualoa Regional Park. Many thanks to Stacey for being very professional and a great sport when it came time to get wet! Wardrobe, accessories, and make-up were care of Stacey. As usual we were shooting with strobes and available light. Steve was up front with Chad on strobe grip.
